King Sized Beds: Why or Why Not??

King sized beds are the best optimal choice if you are having a shared bed. These beds are mainly used by small families in which a couple has one to two kids co-sleeping with them. On the other hand, people who used to turn and toss while sleeping also prefer these beds because these beds allow a plenty of space to them. But, there are many more other points that a person needs to consider before opting for these beds.
There are two types of these king sized beds named as California King Beds and Standard King Beds. Here, I am providing you an evaluation of both types to give you a clear cut idea about the plus as well as the negative points of them.

Pros and Cons of California King Beds:
First of all, have a look over pros and cons of California king beds.

Pros:
  • These beds are quite wider than double beds but less than standard king sized beds.
  • Two adults can easily sleep over these beds while wiggling.
  • If you are most heighted then not even a single bed can beat it because it is the longest bed available.

Cons:
  • It is very hard to move because of the sheer dimension of the mattress. It can be almost impractical to move it in the region of some nooks or up certain stairs. It needs lots of room in a bedroom too, so ensure you have the space to have room for this bed before you buy.
  • Sometimes it is difficult to find Western King Bedding as most “King Size” bedding is made for Eastern/Standard King beds.

Pros and cons of Standard king Beds:
Now it is about standard king sized beds. Have a look over its plus as well as negative points.

Pros:
  • It is the bed that offers most sleeping room while talking about width. Two adults have room to sleep and more than wiggle room as well.
  • The length is standard and therefore can accommodate most sleepers comfortably.
  • Bedding is easy to find as most “King Size” sheets are made for Eastern/Standard King beds.

 Cons:
  • It is very difficult to move due to the sheer size of the mattress. It can be next to impossible to maneuver around some corners or up certain staircases. This King bed has even more width than the Western/California King, so it is vital that you have measured your bedroom space specifically for this bed before purchasing.
  • It may not have enough length for tall individuals.
  • The King Bed requires at least three standard, two queen or king pillows. This can substantially increase the bedding costs.

These are some of the most common advantages and disadvantages of king sized beds and an evaluation of the two types of king sized beds.
