Bunk beds are the most usefultype of beds when we want to
purchase kid’s beds because they are cost effective products as well as compact
in design. They are the best space
savers and makes children room attractive. Children feel more comfortable with bunk beds if
they are living in a shared room. But nothing in this world is risk-free;
everything has its own pros and cons, that’s why these beds are strongly
forbidden to the kids below 6 years. Some serious injuries can occur if these
beds are not made properly or well-designed having safety concerns in mind.
Here in the following, I am going to discuss the most
common harms that these sorts of beds may provide to kids and ways to cop up. Kids
may suffer in the following ways:
- Fractures may happen if a baby falls from upper bed while trying to climb up or down the bed.
- Accidental hanging may occur if a kid’s any body part got caught into the gaps between the bed frame, between the wall and bed, or gapes in ladder.
- If the size of mattress is greater than the bed frame then kid can slip from the bed while sleeping and slipping from the upper bed will cause injury.
- Poorly made bunk bed may get imbalance if children do jumping on upper bed and it will cause disastrous harm.
- Put the guardrails around bed.
- Stick bunk to the wall, remove the gap.
- Properly attached ladder should be used to climb up.
- Keep bunk away from fan.
- Don’t allow more than one kid to climb at upper bed at a time.
- Smooth down the sharp edges of wood and nails.
